I can assist you with prenuptial agreements, co-habitation
agreements, divorce/dissolution, parentage actions, modifications of parenting
plans and child support orders. I also handle step-parent,
or partner adoption. I do not do adoption of children from abroad or from
an unknown birth-mother.
The types of solutions I offer in family cases are:
- Traditional lawyer services which can include one-time
consults and/or longer representation. I am willing to assist clients
in handling matters themselves.
- Litigation work. I may bash the court process at times, but every so often I get feisty and enjoy a good lawsuit. With 8 years of really tough litigation under my belt, I am actually quite good in the court room, if I need to be. I am well qualified to bring temporary
motions and try cases, if negotiation techniques don't resolve the matter.
- Collaboration. This is a no-court, sometimes team-approach.
We make decisions about settlement in a series of four-way meeting with
two clients and two lawyers. If you need extra assistance, both parties
you retain joint experts and share the cost.
- Mediation.
- Joint representation of two clients.
- Flat fee divorces.
- Paralegal assistance.
- Basic education in matrimonial issues.
- Starting in Fall 2005, I will be hosting classes
on divorce and prenuptial agreements, allowing you to save costs by doing
divorce paperwork as part of a group.
